The Stand By Her Campaign is built around five themes that reflect everyday gender equality challenges and opportunities. Each theme is designed to inspire conversation, reflection, and action at home, in school, at work, and in the community.
Shared Responsibility at Home
Promoting fairness in household duties, caregiving, financial choices, and family decision-making.
Equality begins in the home. This theme encourages families to share responsibilities more fairly, including domestic work, caregiving, budgeting, and decision-making. When women, men, girls, and boys all contribute, homes become more respectful, balanced, and supportive.
Technology for Equality
Showing how technology can connect, educate, inform, and inspire both women and men.
Technology can open access to knowledge, opportunity, communication, and support. This theme highlights how digital tools such as phones, computers, online learning platforms, podcasts, and WhatsApp communities can help women and men learn, connect, share ideas, and participate in positive change.
Education and Vocational Training
Encouraging girls and women to pursue learning, practical skills, and training opportunities.
Education and vocational training give girls and women the confidence and skills to shape their future. This theme promotes access to learning, practical skills development, family support, and community encouragement so that more women can pursue training, employment, entrepreneurship, and independence.
Professional Opportunities
Supporting women’s participation in different sectors, including traditionally male-dominated fields.
Women have the ability to succeed in every profession. This theme encourages communities, employers, training institutions, and families to support women’s participation in technical, vocational, professional, and leadership spaces, including careers often seen as male-dominated.
Inspiration and Role Models
Celebrating successful women, supportive men, partner companies, and community leaders driving positive change.
Stories can change mindsets. This theme celebrates women who are breaking barriers, men who support equality, and institutions creating opportunities for women and girls. By highlighting real examples of progress, the campaign inspires others to believe that change is possible.
