From Production to Premier Training Center

The Beginning (1998)

COWA Vocational Training Centre began operations in 1998 with an integrated model combining production activities with skills training.
This early approach recognized that young people learn best by doing, creating real products while mastering technical skills.

Strategic Evolution (2013)

In 2013, COWA's Board of Directors made a pivotal decision to concentrate fully on vocational training excellence.
This strategic shift allowed VTC to expand and deepen its skill competencies, responding to Uganda's growing demand for a technically trained workforce.

The strengthened VTC emerged with:

  1. Expanded program offerings
  2. Enhanced training facilities
  3. Stronger industry partnerships
  4. Innovative Dual Training System
  5. Increased capacity for student intake
